Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine

Let them rest, let them lie undisturbed and undisturbing
Let the quiet soft mould of the dying leaves
Cover them and hide them from eyes
Let the memories fade, let silence keep the past

No we will not remember the times of courage
No we will not think on those times when truth
Was the battle cry, and freedom our watchword
No we will not allow our future to be confused

We will change the books we give our children
We will ignore the inconvenience of the
Memories of our old folk who do remember
We will bury the past in our history

We will rename truth as fake
We will rename hope as sentiment
We will rename life as a cost
We will rename outwardness as a luxury

Let us rest in our ignorance
Let us rest in our comfort
Though that steals the future from our children
Let us rest.

All it took to build Auschwitz was good people looking the other way
All it took at Srebrenica was to not choose
All it took in Rwanda was to find it easy to hate
All it will take is for us to turn away

You will love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your being
You will love one another as I loved you
You will love your neighbour as yourself
Your neighbour is the one in need

NO we shall not rest
NO we shall sit in peace till justice reigns
NO we shall not turn away but turn and face
NO we choose life
